A Birmingham native, Lauren DeMoss is a shareholder in the healthcare practice group at Maynard Nexsen, P.C. She assists health care providers nationally with a wide range of health care regulatory matters. Lauren has a B.A. in International Business and Economics from Rhodes College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. She lives in Homewood with her husband, Jordan, and their three boys, Bennett, 12, Rowan, 9, and Maddox, 6, and their snuggly golden doodle, Lola. When she’s not a ballpark, field or gym, she enjoys reading, traveling and exercising. Lauren was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in April of 2022, after receiving her very first mammogram. Not having a family history, when she received the follow-up request for additional imaging, a cancer diagnosis never crossed her mind. It wasn’t until the ultrasound technician became very quiet did she realize that this wasn’t a “normal” follow-up. After a double mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 25 doses of radiation, Lauren finished active treatment on her birthday, February 7, 2023. It was an extra special celebration. The love and support from friends and family was overwhelming. Reconnecting with friends and spending more time with loved ones who would sit with Lauren during treatment, bring by treats, and visit her at home while recovering was a surprising silver lining of an unexpected diagnosis. "Anyone facing a cancer diagnosis should feel supported, encouraged and loved and that’s why organizations like Forge are so important," says Lauren.

In the meantime she has graciously worked with custom clients constructing designs from scratch and offering high end tailoring services. Her goal with each client is to highlight what makes them unique through the design, and to encourage them to feel confident in who they were created to be.
